He began motor racing at the age three in go-karting. Ten years later as a go-karting champion he was travelling throughtout Europe. His impressive maturity helped him to secure the position of test driver for Renault F1 team in 2002. ''Fernando has something special'' said team director Flavio Briatoreat the time. '' He has the makings of a future great and we're lucky to have him.'' In 2003 he win his first gran prix, followed by World Title in 2005 and 2006. He clocks a fast lap, is consistent during races, overtakes incisively, and is able to rally together the team's 800 members. He has all the talents. Fernando is back in the ING Renault F1 team this season to measure up to a challange that is worthy for him: fresh success with Renault.

The Piquet family has talent to spare. Three times world champion - in 1981, 1983, 1987 - Nelson Senior grabbed the headlines for his flamboyant driving and peerless charisma. Since he debuted in motorsport, young Nelsinho has shown that he has inherited his father'sfamous mastery at the wheel. This year, he stepped up an echelon: the ING Renault F1 Team have promoted him from test driver in 2007 to race driver for 2008. Nelsinho is the quiet type and prefers the interior of a motor home to the photographers' flashlights. Determination, dash, and a burning desire to learn the Grand Prix driver's trade - all qualites that his illustrious father would claim. Whether his record will compare with his father's _ only time will tell.

Piquet is a good pilot,I like his driveing style...is a young kid with a big future
